This Here's The Future Primitives

Fuzzed out surf/garage rock from South Africa!  You can grab this for around $7 from their Bandcamp, and if you're a cheap bastard I even think they have a free release or two.

Lasso - Real Lasso

I've found a massive amount of good music via ongakubaka (try pronouncing that).  Ongakubaka has a lot of great psych/garage/lo-fi releases.  This one however, is in it's own kind of genre, kind of a alt-country pop lo-fi style.  I was really stoked to come across this, definitely check it out!  Pay what you want at their Bandcamp.

Pangea - Living Dummy

Solid garage rock with great melodies, screaming and a sense of humor. Just listen to it.  Burger Records

The Fall / Mark E. Smith

I was going to write about the genius of The Fall, considering that is where the title of this blog comes from. However, I believe this short film could explain it better than anything that I could ever write-ah. Enjoy.

The Fall - The Wonderful And Frightening World Of Mark E Smith from sotoski on Vimeo.

The Pharmacy - Stoned & Alone

Not so fuzzed out, pretty garage rock songs. Kinda modern day Kinks.

Zig Zags - Party at Dave's House

This EP walks a fine line between psych & punk. You can download it free at their bandcamp. Don't stare at the album cover for too long! Whoa!

Mujeres - Soft Gems

Mujeres is a garage rock band that hails from Barcelona, and they do their thing just as well as any American bands.  They have enough reverb and fuzz to fry your brain, but they still write melodies and songs that your parents would enjoy.  This is by far one of my favorite releases of the year!  Do yourself a favor and check it out, it'll be the perfect soundtrack for your next drunken dance party.  (You can also order a gold version of their LP through their bandcamp.)
